Solent Writers Circle

AGM 2019

The Circle recently enjoyed a lively and productive AGM where, amongst familiar faces, we were delighted to welcome two new writers who were visiting us for the first time. Welcome to them!
The past year has been a very enjoyable one. Although we said goodbye to one valued member who has moved from the area, we welcomed other enthusiastic and talented people to the Circle.
The standard of entries to the three main Circle competitions continues to be very high - Patsy's fiendishly challenging 60 word competition was won this year by Gillian, while Barbara and Patsy won the 2018 Anthony Collinson Trophy and Lavinia Hammond Cup respectively. We have had a splendid number of entries for the 2019 Lavinia Hammond Cup competition and we await the results of this with interest.
Patsy continues to be extremely successful, getting stories published in many national and international publications and Alison and Janette both wrote plays that have recently been performed at Titchfield Festival Theatre. Congratulations and well-done to them and to all our very talented members who consistently produce excellent and thought-provoking preps every month!....
